ExxonMobil's 35-year involvement in Grand Prix racing has seen it partner with 3 multi-race and championship-winning teams. The company has worked with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes since 1995 and the 2013 Grand Prix season sees the continuation of its Technology Partnership with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes through the development of lubricants and fuel for the race car.

Mobil 1 lubricants must withstand engine forces 8,500 times greater than the force of gravity. It performs at a temperature of more than 300°C, a temperature which can melt tin and lead and the race car's engine is constantly protected by Mobil 1 Race Performance Mobil 1 lubricants during the 67,000 kilometres covered in the race season.
